Sorry I have been distant...it's been very very busy and I have been very tired.
*While this will be about work, I just wanted to let everyone know that Thor is doing just fine. Moving around a bunch and just being Thor. We are at about 31 weeks and technically have 6 weeks to go until I hit full term (37) but I am hoping he stays in there longer. And we are not much closer to deciding a name.
A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I may have something positive coming down the pipelines in regards to work. And it actually happened and I can announce it publicly. :)
I got a promotion!
I am now one of the company's Project Assistants. I am no longer on the phones and am working 8-5 which should make doing the day care tango with Thor easier. Because I am no longer on the phones I also will have more flexibility in leaving if Thor gets sick and needs to go home unexpectedly as I am sure he will time to time.
I started on the 18th and I am enjoying it so far. They are easing me into the position due to the fact that in 9 weeks or so I will be out for 6 weeks because of Thor. The person I am replacing will keep some of her responsibilities and will pick up for the 6 weeks that I am gone. Once I am back from maternity leave I should end up taking over everything.
So whats coming up?
I need to post about works baby shower
I need to do a post for the 7 month update
I need to post about Moms baby shower
I am sure there are more things but that's all I can remember at the moment. I hope to do the 7 month update this week but the baby shower updates will probably be next week. I don't think I am doing to well in my New Years goal to update this more often :)

Randoms....
*Superbowl weekend was one of the better weekends I can remember having. I slept so well Friday night. Saturday we mopped the kitchen, bathrooms, dining room and foyer. Cleaned the inside of the fridge. Had the oven do its self cleaning cycle, did tons of dishes and organized the kitchen and living room. We made a roast with potatoes and carrots. As usual with red meat, baby loved it. Sunday we just lay around the house until some friends came over the game. I was routing for the Ravens only because they were winning in the beginning. I was pretty dissappointed with the majority of the commercials.
*Baby is doing well. I havent been sick for about a week now so maybe I am finally through that phase? I still have to stick to my strict diet but as long as I don't eat a no no food, I doing well. My next drs appointment is on February 8th. I found a website where I can track how far along I am and I trust that much more then my doctors office. Baby has officially started kicking. I have been feeling him move for awhile but the kicks are becoming visible...now if he would only do it on command....
*Did I fail to mention it was a boy? Brian finally called his mom so I was able to make facebook official but I can't remember if I put it on here. We did not want to know. We found out during the horrendous doctors visit on Jan 10th. The tech ignored our file and told us quite casually. We were so pissed we didnt mention anything. We also could see what it was..there was no hiding it but the tech could have tried much better since she didnt even try to skip over that part or pretend it wasnt what it was. Seriously doubting continuing my services there after this baby is born except I still want babies born at a particular hospital and this office is the only one who works out of that hospital. Arg
*We are very excited it is a boy. Brian is being difficult with boy names. Because he came up with the girls name it is my job to come up with the boys name but he has nixed everything I have come up with. Its getting annoying. My baby shower is on March 30. We picked that weekend knowing it was Easter. We have so many people that ought/need to be invited that are out of town that we felt the need to at least try to make it during a time they may be able to come. Given the holiday, outside of family obligations, they may be able to get away easier then another weekend. I don't think our plan is working very well so far. We definitely understand but I was looking forward to possibly seeing everyone.
*Work is going well. I did qualify for the bonus which is eagerly being awaited for. We have big plans with our hopeful tax return and that bonus. I may have some news with work but nothing yet.
Anyway, that is about it! I should be posting pictures this weekend. The belly is still tiny but its popped!

This has been a whirlwind...
I just finished doing 32 hours of overtime in one pay period. I am exhausted but I am looking forward to that pay check!
We FINALLY heard back from the landscaper about the easement and we are getting the estimate done on Monday. We are hoping to do the easement sooner then we expected. The city cleared the easement...well they mowed it. So it should be easier and we are hoping it will be cheaper to do it while the overgrowth has been mowed then what it would be when the overgrowth grows back. That will be one big project off our list and something that will allow us to feel like we actually accomplished something.
Brian is having his wisdom teeth taken out on October 5th so both of us are taking off that day off. Because I am taking that day off working overtime would be pointless because it wouldnt be overtime. So I will be getting home at around 4:30 instead of 5:30-6 during the week and Brian and I will be having another 3 day weekend though I am sure Brian wont be having too much fun :)
Then on the 13th my parents are coming up. Mom is going to garden and Dad, Brian and I (maybe Caroline +1) are going to get our gun license! I am very excited! This was a birthday gift a few years ago that I tried to redeem myself but got the "little lady" response so we ended that and now Daddy has made it happen! Go Daddy! SO excited!
We may or may not be going down to Charleston on the 20th. We are looking to do a haunted ghost tour and it would be nice to chill out with mom dad and the puppies.
That means no weekend overtime until the 27th :) That is about it!

All good things must come to an end....
Brian and I had a wonderful vacation with each other. We get everything we wanted to get done and more. Well, almost everything. While we were in Charleston we were supposed to go on a boat cruise but it started raining so we decided to skip that. I was starting not to feel so great and have typically not done well on boats when the weather is bad so I didn't want to ruin the experience by possibly getting sick. So we still have to do that when the weather is nicer. We went on a carriage ride which was really fun and our horse, Mr. Bill, was the best. He had the best personality! Our carpets, wood and tile are so clean. Almost everything is put back in its place and we are settling back in to normal life.
We have purchased tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Greenville for this upcoming November. We are really excited about that. We got the section we wanted as well! The key to Trans Siberian is that you dont want to be on the floor because it will be hard to see the stage and the people as they walk above you. This show is just about the visual lights as it is the sound. You also dont want to be to high or to far on the other side of the arena. You also dont want to be right on one side next to the stage. The musicians spend a lot of time on the stage but they also walk out into the audience a bit and if your right by the stage you will miss what they do in the audience. We think the best area is the lower level one block in from the stage. so not 101 but 102 in our case. We were in section 103 which was great especially since we didnt know what we were about to experience so we are very close to where we were before but just a bit closer to the stage so we can see them on stage better but not so close to the stage where we cant see what they do in the audience. We are SO excited about this trip. We love Trans Siberian Orchestra.
Work is going well. Exciting really but I will post about that when everything is all said and done. Monday was a bit rough as a first day back. Nothing really bad happened but it was a LONG day. We had mandatory overtime so i ended up with a 12 hour day. This week is flying by and there is mandatory overtime this Saturday and next so yay extra money!!! Brian's student loans will be paid off that much sooner.
We did come to the decision regarding extra money towards house vs student loans but that deserves a post in itself. I am pleased we came to a decision and can start working with that in mind.
I am starting to get ready for Christmas. I have all the Christmas cards ready I just need the letters and those will be ready to be sent out. I also have about half of the Christmas gifts that I just need to order. I still need to make the other portion and of course mail them out.
I started the photo book detailing the house being built but that book is going to be exhausting as the pictures have to go in a specific order and remembering the order and finding the appropriate pictures is draining. I have them organized by week but not by location within the week, hind sight is 20X20. I am going to work on that more after all Christmas gifts are ordered/sent.
Wedding album is back on hold as the two books my mom gave are not going to work. One is broken (I am hoping its a fluke and not to come of the books I have already made) and the other is partially full with more pictures of me! I am going to use the rest of that book to put random pictures I have been saving.
I think that is it....tomorrow I am hoping to post more about Mr. Bill and later this week about our house vs student loan decision.

Weird dreams
I have been having some extremely weird dreams lately.
So far I have dreamed of:
-The Hulk (not Bruce Brenner...think big angry green giant)
-A friend at work with a weird credit card account that kept increasing his balance even after he paid it off and didnt make any more purchases
-Caroline and my mom switching houses with Caroline working for Dressbarn (she doesn't) and how Blair is cannot make a bad photograph (this part is true) with us playing with bed linens
-Work
There are other dreams but I can't remember specifics. I used to sleep soundly with no dreams and so far each night I have had a weird dream.

What have I been up too...
Not much I am afraid
The invisible fence is in so we are ready for Benjamin and Bailey (my parents dogs which I call mine) when they come down with the move.
This weekend we are having the trim put in above the blinds, the new doors we bought for the pantry put in and the back splash as well. I will of course post pictures of the finished product.
Work is going well. I am in production which surprised me and my manager. We both thought there would be more notice but things have changed as they typically do. It is okay though because I did very well in my first month of being in production. My manager is not worried at all. I did a little better then I was hoping for but not as well as I would have hoped. We have to meet 100% to keep our jobs (not immediately, there are steps in place to help you make production but if you ignore the suggestions and don't do what you are supposed to the quickest way to lose the job is by not making production) but if we make 120% production for the year we get a bonus. I have been hoping to get the 120% average so I can get the bonus. This month I got 125% without trying terribly hard. I have from the beginning tried to organize my time like I would if I were on production so the transition would be easier to working on production and maybe it wouldn't be too hard for me to meet production. Well it worked! I would have liked it to be a little higher then 125% because there is little wiggle room for the following months in case things slow down and I have trouble finding things to keep me occupied. But I think it is a great start for my first month and I will continue doing what I am doing and will look for more work to help boost my numbers.
Also with work, overtime is back! I am rejuvenated from my break with overtime and have been staying late doing correspondence. I am getting much faster (which will help my production) and enjoy doing it. There is overtime this Saturday which I am doing as well. Weekends have been tough because we haven't had much to do. This is the first weekend where we really have any real plans so we have been watching a lot of tv. Since I do have Monday off and I am not really necessary for the projects at home we thought it would be good if I did the overtime.
Brian and I are re-thinking what to do with the money I have saved for the extra mortgage payment. Brian is now thinking about wanting to use it to pay down one of his student loans. All the overtime I currently earn is being divided. Half of it will go towards house projects and the other half is going to his student loans. While making an extra mortgage payment each year would lower the interest on the house greatly Brian is thinking it might be better off paying off a student loan and then playing catch up on the house later. The student loan is at a higher interest rate then the house and having that paid off would free up money each month. I like our current system. Taxes/half of my overtime/bonus's/etc going towards student loans and having an extra mortgage payment for the house but I dont know if I am being type A, stubborn and not liking change or if my idea is more sound. Brian is wanting to put all the money we dont spend on house projects/bills to go towards paying off the loan. Nothing we need to make an immediate decision on, just something we are discussing.
Brian is still obsessed with the bunny in our yard. He is so cute about it!
I am back at the gym and while I am sore, I am enjoying being back. I had a nice "break" but it is nice to be back in more rigid, structured classes again.
Really the biggest thing is waiting for Mommy and Daddy to move down!

Update on regular life
Sorry for the long break in posting....nothing has really happened to really prevent me from blogging so I guess life just got away.
Marriage life is really not different for us. The only strange thing is my new last name but I quickly got used to that because of my new job.
Still not sure what we are going to do for a honeymoon. We don't have as much left over from the wedding budget so I am not sure what we are going to be able to afford. We were invited to join a two other couples to go on a cruise next March/April to the Carribean so maybe we make that a honeymoon? I know your supposed to go away just the two of you but I just dont really feel that that is so important with us. Brian and I have gone away by ourselves plenty of times. Also...that is a bit far away for a honeymoon.
I have had my IUD taken out. Brian and I are not actively trying but we are no longer preventing. I did find a great obgyn and office so I am excited about that but I did receive news that I was not expecting. I have always known that I would more then likely have issues getting pregnant on my own and we are currently waiting and seeing but an issue I have known about is apparently a bigger issue then I thought. I will post about it later. Right now I am trying to fight the withdrawal symptoms from having my IUD taken out.
My Mom and Dad have made great progress in their move out of the Great White North and I am getting so excited for their move.
We finally got our bookshelves so we are putting together Brian's man cave this weekend so I will be posting pictures of that. We are also getting our ducks in a row for the future projects so hopefully I will have more pictures of that.
Work is still going well. Transitioning well to being on the phones full time. Overtime is no longer required which is good because I am about burnt out of overtime. There is overtime this Saturday, I may do it...it depends on how I feel.
I really feel that is about it. There will be posts describing my pregnancy journey and what I have to do or am lucky that I do not have to do and I will of course keep you posted on the house as it gets finished. I will definitely do a better job keeping you all up to date.

I feel sick weird
For the first time in in my my 5 years of working I left work early. I have never taken a sick day, left work early or anything. Even in college I never skipped classes. The last time I can remember not going to school or work was Junior of High School when I had Scarlett Fever and that was only because the Head Master and my mom made me stay home. I do not stay home from work unless it is a paid holiday, a weekend without overtime or a well in advance planned vacation. I am that associate who comes to work not feeling great but that's only because me not feeling great is me having a sinus infection or an ear infection which are not contagious. Outside of my nose and ears, I am fortunately very healthy.
Today has been weird though
At work I felt feverish, had a headache, was achy and I felt like I was colder then everyone else at work (the AC was on so everyone was cold...I felt like I was in a freezer). If I wasn't on the phones full time I could have pulled through. But I was struggling with the phone calls (figuring out insurance claims can be hard when your feeling 100% let alone when your not feeling like yourself) and our call volume is so high that I knew I couldn't sign off to do other projects as I would just be called back onto the phones so my manager let me leave early. I wont have to use any vacation time or have any unscheduled leave because I will have made up the hours but this just means I will have 2 hours of overtime rather then 9.
On the way home I ate my lunch and started to feel slightly better. At home I started to eat cashews and started a bit better then at about 1:30 I had pasta with red sauce. Then I had some crackers and I had chinese for dinner. Food made it better but I still feel very weird.
I no longer feel feverish but I still don't feel right. I feel dizzy but not, nauseous but not. almost loopy, I am having trouble thinking straight it seems. The next few days will be interesting. I had planned on having a post on how BMI sucks and about the goose that has laid eggs nearby but that will have to wait for my brain to stop spinning.
On a sweet note, Brian bought me a get well ducky :)

Yes we are alive!
Whew! What a few weeks!
I just wanted to hop on and let you know we all made it. The wedding went wonderfully except for the rain and cupcakes. More on that to come...I am still sorting it out in my head and want to post pictures.
We are working on the "30 day" touch up list. This list has gotten shorter, it has taken them awhile to fix all of the major things and so now they are down to the paint touch up, etc stuff.
I took my, hopefully, last test at work yesterday. Next Friday I find out if I passed. If I have passed I am officially out of training and will be put into production...relatively soon.
I start back at the gym on Monday. I had to stop the gym to fit into the wedding dress and I took an extra week off to help let everything settle. I am looking forward to starting the gym again especially since the next three weekends I have either a 5k or a 10k on Saturday. I think I may be done with those after the one in May. That's my current idea....lets see what Janet convinces me to do ;)
I miss having everyone here though :(
I just wanted to hop on and let you know we all made it.

13 Days and Counting!
The wedding is in 13 days and I just can't wait. I am excited to marry Brian and while I have done very little with this wedding...we are too close for me to be excited. I will be excited on Friday 3.2.12 but until then it is just stress.
Stress is not helping me gain weight. Yes, I know I am one of those brides EVERYONE hates because I have lost too much weight. I believe I have gone down another pant size so I think I am a size 6. I am not going to the gym in the evenings anymore but I will continue to go during lunch. I just don't have anything to do during my lunch break after I finish eating so to keep my sanity I will continue to go during lunch. Trying to eat more and less healthy but that isn't working really well. I just do not like the taste of junk food and do not have the appetite. Oh well, it will be fine.
All the vendors are responding to me but the DJ. The DJ has been in contact with my father so I am not too concerned with that. Everything is going smoothly, there are a couple things that have gone over budget so our Honeymoon budget is non existent but we can save for that. Everyone is getting excited and my family and I are still trying to pull everything together.
Work is still going well. I am switching managers so after class on Monday I will be switching desks. I didn't really want to switch managers but my new manager is a nice guy so I am thankful for that. I am switching managers because they are adding a couple new teams and need people to go into the new teams. It should be good. This is a good time for me to switch if I am going to switch. I am not in production yet so a lot of what is changing could/would have changed anyway the only thing that is different is that I am reporting to someone new. Asking for time off for the wedding has been interesting as I have had to tell two managers. My current manager would approve it but I would have to tell my new manager since I would be under my new managers care by the date I needed the time off.
Even though the house is bigger....I am able to clean 85% of the bottom half of the house in 2 hours :) Yay! Now if I can only keep it clean. Organized is a different issue.
I hope to post more once the wedding is done. I am still trying to get in a new work schedule, hang with Brian, organize the wedding and deal with the house. Things are definitely going on, I just don't have the time to post about it :-\

Surprise Bridal Shower!
My work through me a surprise Bridal Shower on Friday during lunch!
I will start at the beginning because I had NO clue!
On Wednesday afternoon my peer coach Emily tells me that we are having a baby shower for another co-worker Nicole who is having a baby girl (her due date is actually my wedding day). I was a little surprised and confused I had not been informed about this baby shower before then but I was hoping it was because I was always in training.
So Thursday night I leave work and get Nicole her baby shower gift. I went to Dillards and I really was not impressed with their baby clothes selection. There were a few cute things but not really. I was able to find 3 really cute outfits on sale. I got 3 month onesies, a set of 6 month clothes that would be two outfits and a 9 month outfit. I always try to get larger clothes figuring the Mom to be and other guests will get her plenty of the smaller clothes and I think the Mom to be should get some larger clothes to make it easier for her when the child grows.
So Friday comes and I go to class and then it is time for lunch. So I head out to meet my pod and we walk to one of the break room and I see everything decorated! I notice it was divided between sections...one pink and one purple but I didn't think anything of it. Well Emily tells me that the shower is also for me! I was so surprised! There was sandwiches, chicken, guacamole, chips, salsa and chocolate cake bars.
They even got me gifts!
The pod as a whole got us a gift card to Walmart :) I was so surprised and am so grateful to them. It did not occur to me that they would do this. They are so kind and it did not go unnoticed.

My 27th Birthday Party!
I was thrown a wonderful birthday part by the girls at work on the 20th! Remember the people I went to see the haunted house with back in October? These are the same girls! We have plans for nearly every month to get together! January they threw me a birthday/bachelorette party, in February I am hosting a wine tasting while doing wii Zumba/Lets Dance, in March Sherry and Janet are throwing a St Patty's day party and that is as far as we have gotten so far. I am having so much fun and I am so glad I met these girls. They are so helpful at work and so fun to be with after! I finally feel like an actual adult since I have a social life now!
Anyway we first met at a sushi place in the area that Anna and I live (Anna and I are basically neighbors). I did not try the sushi but I had the hibachi plate with a tnt roll (tnt roll=fried sushi) which was very yummy! I did not get any pictures but Anna advised that I should get a small even though we were there to pig out and boy was she right! The small was more then enough, hard for me to imagine what a large would be. Anna and Kelly had the same thing I did and Janet and Sherry had various sushi rolls. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I am excited to take Brian there!
We did have some drama though! Kelly showed up one week early and then Janet and Sherry showed up at the wrong location on the 20th! The restaurant is called King Kong sushi and there are two locations, one at Broadway and one where I live. Well, they went to the Broadway one. Anna, who was orchestrating the whole thing, was so embarrassed that she didn't make the location clear enough but it was definitely a good laugh. I think Anna did make it clear enough and Janet and Sherry were just so excited to come they didnt pay much attention. I have done that MANY a time and as far as I was concerned it only made the night better as we had something to laugh about as soon as Anna realized no one was mad at her :)
After dinner we all drove to Anna's house. Her house is so cute and she really is almost our neighbors. Our neighborhoods touch and if there weren't two houses in the way I could walk to her house. I thought we were just going for a glass of wine and girl talk but they planned an actual party with a cake and presents! I even got to practice my proper southern poses. ALL southern girls put their hands on their hips in pictures....us northern girls haven't really figured out what to do with our hands so when Janet, Anna and I take a picture together it is quite comical as it is clear that I am NOT a southern girl. Janet was awesome and took pictures for me!
I had a wonderful time! The girls are all so sweet and funny. The evenings go buy so fast but I love how we all found each other. If any of the girls are reading this: Thank you! The gifts and cake were unnecessary but greatly appreciated! Can not thank you girls enough!

Is it Saturday yet?
And I do not even know if I want it to be Saturday because that isn't any less busy. I will hopefully write a real post this weekend but I wanted to at least put a synopsis up as it has been 8 days since I updated.
1) I turned 27 on the 15th. Brian, my parents and I spent the time in Charleston looking at houses, eating WAY too much and just enjoying each others company. A real post on this later.
2) House is moving along. Bedroom furniture arrived so we are starting to put clothes away. Our bed doesnt require the box spring but Brian had it put in anyway so now the bed is ridiculously high. Brian LOVES it....I hate it. Once I am up I am fine though curious to see how close we would be to the ceiling fan we have yet to buy but I do not like getting up or down. The king size was a good move.
3) My friends from work are throwing me a bachelorette/birthday party on Friday. A real post with pictures from that awesomeness. We are going to eat a sushi place (never had sushi before so we shall see) and then hang out at Anna's house who incidentally lives in the next neighborhood
4) Washer and Dryer are still not here but I gave up waiting on them and am using Caroline's washer/dryer. Because of this I am back at the gym. I started Monday and boy am I sore! Janet, one of my friends at work, somehow convinced me that I should join the running club at work so now we are signed up for a 5k and a 10k. I have two goals: 1) finish and 2) hopefully stay running the whole time...maybe not fast but I do not want to walk at any point if I can help it. Goal number 1 is more important then goal number 2. I will do a separate post on my new regime but let me just say running is not for me.
5) I got some birthday money for work clothes so I went shopping! I never used to understand how people could go nuts with shopping. Whenever I would go I would end up in tears because nothing fit me right so I was lucky to find something to spend my money on let alone somethings to make me spend too much money. Well, with the weight loss and tone I can definitely understand how someone can go overboard. I had a very successful trip and it may have been the first time in 27 years I did not cry shopping for clothes! First time for everything right? I plan to do a photo shoot as well for this.
6) Work is going well. We have another test coming up on the 27th so I am studying very hard. We have had overtime offered to us even though we are still trainees so I have been doing a lot of that. Still having fun but I had my first bawler.....not crying, absolutely bawling. I felt so bad, I could definitely understand her frustration and I tried to make her feel better but I think I ended up just making it worse. Definitely not fun, I was able to resolve the situation by the time the phone call ended but I just felt so bad for the caller. :(
Anyway Saturday is more overtime but after that a bridesmaid and I am going to get our dresses fitted and if there is time Brian and I are buying our wedding bands. Less then 6 weeks.....

Today was a great day!
Today was an amazing day!
I got inspired to step on a scale after another woman and it appears I lost 6 lbs so not only am I below 160 I am below 155! I am now 154 if the scale is correct. Not sure why I weighed 160 a couple days ago and will weigh myself again in a week or so but I am very excited!
Then I found out that I was able to do overtime this Saturday AND next Saturday! I know most people wouldn't be excited about doing overtime but the extra money will help with house projects and it is a sign of how far I have come within my training at the new job.
Then I was given some very precious gifts. One of our fitness trainers is moving to Florida for a change of pace and I will miss her. However, as she is moving she was getting rid of a lot of stuff and had brought some things to class offering it to us if we wanted and if we didn't she was going to donate it to Goodwill. I looked at the list and fell in love with 99% of it and I was able to get all of it because no one else wanted it! I got 2 things which are going to be Carley's and Xavier's Christmas presents, a cabbage patch doll because it will go with my other one at home and would be cool to keep around and the rest was Christmas presents.
Remember my post about wanting to decorate for the holidays? Well Christmas is done except for the table cloth/napkins. I got about 7 pieces that make up a Christmas Village set which I think will be fun to put on a table. Some battery operated candles to put in windows and a Christmas themed Afghan and pillow. I also got the best thing ever! Christmas dishes! It is a set of 12 with glasses that aren't part of the set but go beautifully! These were her Grandmothers and I am going to email her thanks for everything and let her know that I am going to use them with care and if she changes her mind and wants them back I will get them to her. If not, great for me but I don't want her to regret a decision.
Here are some pictures:
I didn't unpack everything since it is packed really well but the dishes consist of a table setting for 12. The dishes are also dishwasher, microwave and convection oven safe! Can't get easier then that! SO excited for Christmas this year!
Brian wasnt too happy, we are ourselves moving and have to go through our own junk and here I come in with this but how could I say no? SO exciting and saved us SO much money!

What has Rachel and Brian been up to?
Brian is pissed that the roofer guy came 5 minutes early for his appointment, didn't wait the 5 minutes, didn't call Brian saying he was here and just left. We have been trying to get this roof fixed for over 2 1/2 years now
We are trying to decide if we are going to buy the house. We have less then a month to decide. It would be tight until Brian pays off the engagement ring and then much easier when he has paid off one set of student loans but doable. We are thinking of using some wedding money (we obviously don't know if we are getting any or how much but we are pretty sure we will get some as not everyone is going to want to get us something from the registry or find something else) to pay off part or all of one or both things. Things not being taken care of in the apartment is making us lean towards buying the house
I have been saying really silly things on the phones at work. I have finished a mini phone skills class but fortunately my manager didn't need us on the phones by ourselves so I am still practicing with my peer coach. So far I have provided a laugh for those around me. The first day my peer coach didnt think I was switched over so I got muted mid sentence because she thought she was unmuting me and the beginning of the call got all choppy. Second day when repeating something with letters to a caller I said "K as in Kitty Cat" instead of the numerous other choices I could have picked from. Two things made it more embarrassing, I thought my peer coach was agreeing with kitty when she was whispering King and I knew Kitty would probably be silly so I added cat to make it not silly. Today was probably the worst. I may be the only one to say "k as in kitty cat" but at least today's example I know I am not the one. I introduced the call using my old companies name, i.e. "Thank you for calling Island Vista" *head desk*
Our engagement photo shoot is Sunday so tomorrow we have to go and buy Brian an outfit. He is going to have tons of fun. Other then that we aren't doing anything this weekend. Our friends couldn't hang out tonight so Brian and I are trying to decide what to do. We are going to eat out with one of my hotel friends Saturday night. It should be interesting....

Random....
* This month's menu planning is still going awful. Tonight was supposed to be cheese souffle and not only did I not have heavy cream and had to replace it with half and half but the egg whites would not peak so we ended up having to trash the whole meal. It is an expensive meal that only Brian really likes and it is expensive :( Plus we don't have that many left overs and I was counting on this to work.
* Fitness Center is going well. This week several instructors are on vacation so we have had subs and boy am I sore! I must be gaining muscle as I apparently packed on 5 lbs though I don't look it other then maybe more muscle? I have been eating the same save this past weekend....
* Found a DJ for the wedding so now we just need a florist which we will do in October and start planning/ordering/doing the small decorations. The Save the Dates are in and I plan to pick those up on Saturday. Now I just have to A) get the instructions on how my guests should book and B) get those mailed out
*Payday is tomorrow. I also find out how I did on my first work test. I am still not at all used to getting paid every two weeks. It is weird.
*I was feeling less overwhelmed until today.
*I don't do phones and people keep calling/wanting to do things over the phone rather then email which isn't helping me feel less anxious/overwhelmed.

Fourth of July Weekend: Part 1
I have had the best Fourth of July Weekend I think there ever was. I am so pleased and thankful for how everything turned out. I had so much fun that I can't contain it into one post! The follow up will be posted tomorrow.
Saturday:
Saturday we went out for the day. We had lots of shopping to do! We first drove through Market Commons and ended up walking through a very disappointing Italian festival. It was more of a vender market with pizza. While we were there we decided to eat out at Travinia's. It was as usual delicious.
After that we went shopping at the mall!
Our first stop was at Men's Warehouse where we got Brian's suits. He had a $100 gift card and needed more work shirts. They had an amazing sale and they let us use the gift card (we got the gift card because we spent X amount so it wasn't a gift card gift card) which was awesome. We ended up getting 4 polo shirts and a t-shirt! They didn't have 2 of the shirts in his size and they let us order them but keep them at the same price as the others! It was awesome! Men's Warehouse is still our go to store for Brian.
Our next stop was Old Navy. My mom had gotten me a dress that didn't work well with my body and I had returned it from a sister company of Old Navy. I chose to get a gift card and that gift card is good at any of the Gap companies and I thought of Old Navy first. I love Old Navy prices but I often don't love their clothes on me. I was very successful on Saturday! I had $90 dollars and I got 3 polo's, 2 button downs and 1 dressy tank top! I even had $15 left over and I used that to order a tank from the Gap online to go with one of my Old Navy shirts.
Our final stop was Dressbarn from me. One of my new friends at work has several cute dresses from there and I was dying to see for myself. I had found 4 online that I loved and wanted to see if they had them in the store. They didn't but they had 4 more that I fell in love with. I got the 4 dresses and 2 shrugs in the store and the 4 dresses and 2 shrugs online! They are so cute! They all fit beautifully and I just love them! I definitely do not have the issue of not having clothes for work! And I finally feel like I have clothes that I like, can afford and is the style that is appropriate for the activities I am doing. Dressbarn is my go to store! I will do a post modelling my new outfits when everything comes in.
Sunday:
This was a typical Sunday. I watched TV (skipped Caroline's as she was busy) and hung out. Brian played his games.
Come back tomorrow to see part 2 :)
Saturday:
Saturday we went out for the day. We had lots of shopping to do! We first drove through Market Commons and ended up walking through a very disappointing Italian festival. It was more of a vender market with pizza. While we were there we decided to eat out at Travinia's. It was as usual delicious.

My First Week
My first week went very well. The first 3 days were 8 hours of training and then Thursday and today we spent the first 4 hours in training and the last 4 hours in our areas. From now until we are out of training (7 months from now) we will spend the first 4 hours in a class room and the rest in our areas.
We have five classes and five tests to pass. I almost feel like I am back in college again. I don't mind and enjoy the training there are others in my class that are more overwhelmed with the idea of being in training for 7 months. Our company is amazing and is paying us full salary and everything so I almost feel bad. I will be done with training in February. Also starting in 2013 (this 7 months of training is going to take care of 2011 and 2012) we are required 32 hours of training a year which is awesome! They are want us up to date and I think that is awesome! I have talked to my coworkers and they said that they make it so easy to get those 32 hours.
After our morning of class we do go back to our areas where we have peer coach's who help show us what we will actually be doing on a day to day basis. My peer coach is so sweet! She has a different schedule then I do so she leaves early which is working out well. I get to watch what she does and I have time to go over what I learned that day in class. She is also great at taking any and every opportunity to show me what she is doing and why and answering questions. She also explained that if we did our job and stayed busy we would have no issue meeting production levels which is also a big relief. They way they have organized the numbers they need us to meet is very conducive to my personality so I am pleased with that coincidence.
Everyone in the company is so fun! They all have great personalities and while they are of course professional they aren't the stiff, rigid, boring people that is stereotypical of most corporate/government run organizations. My section is very outgoing. One woman found me in the lunch room and invited me to eat with her on my first day! No one has EVER asked me to sit with them when they noticed I was sitting alone...EVER! (I cant remember elementary school but MS and HS was rough...). Then a friend of hers that was sitting with us noticed me the next day and invited my whole group to sit with them! I have had several people come up and wish us luck, tell me they are glad we are here, that if we need anything to just ask.
I was hoping for a good week and I definitely got that! I am just so impressed with everything and could not be happier. I do miss my old coworkers but I am so glad that my new coworkers are turning out to be as awesome as they are.

Randomness
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile...things have been going on but I just haven't had time to fully sort things out. My parents are coming on Friday (YAYAYAYYAYAYAYAY) so I am working a very long week to get Sat/Sun off. We are also very busy getting the house clean.
Knitting: Going well, I am getting faster but I think that might be causing me to get fewer squares out of my skeins. The last skein I finished had BARELY enough to finish...literally. This skein is looking like it is going to be the same way. I am not sure which is better....more squares out of a skein or faster making squares. I have about 12 squares right now?? I haven't counted yet. After this skein I think I should have enough for two rows..maybe being 1 or two squares short.
Brian's work: He is going well. He is excited for the weekend. Not only are my parents coming but it will be his first day off in 21 days. He will have officially ended his two week notice (but may work a few more Saturdays to help out and for the extra money) and will finally get to have a true weekend. As of right now...that means we will never have a weekend off together anymore. Unless something changes, my days off are Weds/thurs and his are Sat/Sun. He does get home at 6pm M-F but by the time dinner is made it is almost time to go to bed. Fortunately I get home 4ish on Sat/Sun so we will have the afternoons together at least.
Car/House: We are busy crunching numbers, coming up with a game plan. I would love to get both a year from now, give or take but I definitely want to do at least one of them. Brian's Chevy Aveo is a death trap and needs replacing sooner then later. And I want a house. We are deciding which we can afford and which to get first. He has wanted a Ford Fusion for several years now. This would be the first car he has ever picked out and bought and the idea is that this car would last 10+ years. The Fusion he wants is going to run 33k with the options he wants. We are trying to figure out when we can buy it. He has worked so hard to get where he is and while neither of us want to make a stupid. irresponsible financial mistake we both really want him to get the car he wants with the options he wants. It's not like he is trying to buy a Nissan GTS (His DREAM DREAM DREAM car). We are now trying to figure out how to afford it and actually enjoy life at the same time.

He is SO excited!
Brian got home last night at around 6pm and he was just so so so excited.
He has his own cubicle (in a rectangle...he made sure to point that out) that will have his name on it when his name plate arrives. He has an ID that he can swipe to get into places. He has his own phone and his own phone line. They even gave him a laptop and laptop bag! He left that at work as he doesn't need it here but we thought that was very cool. He is in love with the breakroom and is excited that he is allowed to have food in his office. He mentioned he needed to bring his own mug to put pens and things in :).
He had so much fun going over everything with me. I am so so so pleased for him. Right now he is in training and once he starts he wont be able to tell me much due to confidentiality but I am so excited for him.
Tomorrow and Thursday are my first days off with him at work. It is going to be so so so weird. Our current topic of conversation is how we are going to split the bills. I have always taken care of rent/electric/cable + my stuff and he has always given me $300 towards the bills and he took care of his stuff. With this new position we have a bit more money so we are trying to figure out away to even out the bill paying with both of us having fun money and money to save towards car/house. His idea is that he gives me $600 a month, my idea is that he covers rent/electric/cable and I save what I would be spending. We are trying out his method for awhile and see where that takes us. I don't see that helping me save that much but we shall see.
