A Conversation between Father and Son

A few weeks ago Brian and Simon were talking and I keep thinking back to that conversation and smiling so I thought I would document it here.

Brian: "you are such a lucky boy! Both of your Gramma's have pools"
Simon: *head bobbles*
Brian: "and when we visit your Gramma in Charleston over labor day we are going to take you swimming"
Simon: "squawk"
Brian: "but don't you worry little man. I will be right there with you! It will be okay!"
Simon: *head bobbles*
Brian: "mmhmm I will be right there don't you worry."
Simon: *giggles*

***the pool was a success. Video to follow later***

Mommy and Simon

I know I know I still have posts to do from my "To Do" list but they all require a computer which I haven't gotten a chance to use.

Meanwhile I thought I would show you the two photo shoots Simon and I have done together.

While on maternity leave:

Today:

I still don't see any more of a resemblance between him and me then I did before. Sorry for the not so good pictures from today...it was early morning and we did not have enough light.

Before and After

While giving Simon a bath I realized just how big he had gotten and thought I would do a before/after post.

Before:

Here he is at 1 week old and yes, he still isn't a fan of baths. Gramma, who took the picture, had to zoom in.

After:

He is too long for the tub...

I swear I sometimes feel like I have the worlds longest baby!

Simon is Three Months Old!

Simon is three months old! It has flown by! We know he is 11lbs 1oz because we had to take him in due to his bottle strike (future post). He is still very long but I don't know his exact length. He has to be over 24 inches at this point.

He can successfully roll over front to back multiple times. He can do it about three times before he gets tired. I have a video that I am going to post later.

He is laughing and giggling up a storm! He still likes it when Brian does "nose" and thinks it is hilarious when I growl at him. I often get a belly laugh! I am going to try and get a video of that.

As you can see he has found his fist. And just like his Aunt Helen he can get his whole fist in his mouth! Finally a trait from my side of the family. We will have to wait until he is older to see if he takes after Aunt Betsy and her skills at tying cherry stems in a knot with her tongue!

Someone is practicing his double fisting for college :)

He has also begun to show interest in his feet, I can't wait until he starts eating them! He has also realized that he can grab and play with his giraffe Nigel which is just precious. He also follows us when we walk past, not just with his eyes but he turns his whole head.

His goosey noises are starting to go away. Others think the change is drastic, Brian and I disagree. They are definitely going away but slowly still.

I think that is it for this post...stay tuned for more!

It's been awhile!

I have lots to post about but haven't really had the chance to get on the computer. Before, Simon was so young I was tied to the couch. I am still tied to the couch but because he is older he is so much more fun to play with. He does go to sleep between 7-7:30 but then I have a choice...sleep or blog. Since we are still breast feeding he still gets up a couple times at night so I have chosen sleep. And there only so many posts I can do via my phone.

So here is a list of posts I will get up here...hopefully before September!

-Simon is three months
-His new trick
-Donating breast milk/tips on getting and keeping your supply
-Daddy's first day babysitting
-Simon's bottle strike
-Work and daycare routine
-Pictures of Simon of course!
