Fourth of July Weekend: Part 2

Monday :)

We got up  and put clothes away and started to make lunch (Mom's Baked Zitti) and Brian has decided he wants to go out. So we put the meal in the fridge to actually cook on Tuesday night.

We went out to eat at Max and Erma's, a restaurant near where our house will be if we go through with it. Brian and I both had burgers and I accidentally ate myself sick :(. Lunch was good and we decided to go to the zoo. A near by town had a zoo and we didn't want to just go home.

I lay down and took a brief nap and felt better as we got closer. The zoo was cute but disturbing. They will allow pictures but no video (usually you allow both or none....) and Brian thinks it is because it is hard to hide how ill run the place. The place just wasn't kept up very well and I am not sure if they actually feed the animals. When you go you have the option of buying food and as soon as a human starts to walk towards an inclosure all the animals RUN towards it. It is a little freaky. But we had fun. We walked around the whole park and saw all the animals. They had monkeys, bears, lions, LOTS of goats, leopards, exotic birds, emu's, zebras and more. Here are my favorites:

Yes, that is a cows tongue sticking up in the air

Yes, that is a Donkey begging for food

Brian liked this one as it reminded him of me as I am "fuzzy"

An emu that kept pecking at us to try and get food

After the Zoo we went home took showers and accidentally took a nap. It felt good after being in the hot sun for a few hours. Fortunately Brian set the alarm so we were able to get to our dinner reservation in time. We started dating 07-07-07 but were using the 4th to celebrate as we were both off. I did not know where we were going.

We ended up at Ruth Chris. Both of us had been there once before (it was our second year anniversary dinner) and had a fabulous time. Unfortunately it was not as good this time. We got the same appetizer to share (Calamari) which was just okay. Brian had a rib eye and that was excellent. I had a fillet and a lobster tail. My fillet was excellent but the lobster was clearly undercooked. I was not sure at first, I don't eat lobster enough to really know, and kept cutting it to see. The waiter walked by and filled our drinks and noticed it right away and took it to bring me back another one. Well he brought me back the same lobster so the lobster I had cut up was over cooked and rubbery and the lobster that I hadn't cut was basically fine. We then finished up with the bread pudding with whiskey sauce. That was very good. If/When (it is an if because it is expensive!) we know to skip the seafood and keep with the steaks and to try a new appetizer or skip that entirely.

After dinner we headed down to Murrells Inlet to watch the fireworks. I have never seen them in Myrtle Beach (I have ALWAYS worked through them) and just wanted to see what it would be like. We got lucky with parking and think we did very well! and we got a great seat to actually view the fireworks. We could not have planned it better!

After the fireworks we headed home. I started to get ready for bed and Brian asked me what I was doing. He had one more gift for me (meanwhile I have NOTHING for him as I thought we weren't doing anything other then dinner) and do I want it. That is a silly question....everyone who knows me knows I love presents! He had me sit on the couch and he went on bended knee and said "Fuzzy, you have been my fuzzy for a long time. I was wondering if you would like to be my fuzzy forever. I know I don't say it a lot fuzzy but I do love you" as he pulls out a blue box with this:

I of course said yes after much giggling and jumping around. This was at 11pm mind you but of course I had to call mom! I was under strict instructions to not put it on FB just yet as we of course wanted to tell his family in person. Everyone is so excited and I can't wait to start planning. Right now the tentative date is October 2012.

I had thought he was going to propose that night, just like I do at every holiday or big event, and when he didn't at dinner I assumed it was going to be like any other holiday. I was so pleased and excited to have spent such a wonderful day with him that I was completely fine without the proposal and it ended up making it even better as I was completely surprised when he did ask. He had actually planned to propose at dinner but when dinner became so disappointing he didn't want to ruin the special moment. He then thought about proposing at the fireworks but it was just way to crowded which is why it ended up being at 11pm in our living room.

I could not have asked for a better day....and I am looking forward to all the planning!
