The hard wood is down. It should NOT be down. The HVAC system has only just gotten up, the house is still not acclimated as of yesterday and the floor is down. We even found the instructions that state if the floor isnt put down with the house appropriately acclimated the glue and wood warranty is void. Now if something were to happen the builder would pay but still....we are not paying for a wood floor that doesnt have any warranty because the idiot builders can't put down the floor. The head builder was all cocky stating that he has never had an issue with a floor and the floor would be put down in the "appropriate" time. Well he is an idiot. They used damaged wood and the wood isnt sticking. We can visibly see bubbles where the floor isnt sticking to the ground and the edges are visibly popping up. There is a way of fixing it but it is a bit complicated and you can easily damage other wood around it. The floor people have to be very careful. We don't think the builders are capable of fixing it. If they cannot put down the floor correctly the first time which is the easiest part, how are they going to be able to fix it properly?
The other question is what are they going to do with the easement. They cleared it and leveled it like they were going to sod it but they have not sod it and it looks like they have no plans to. I know they arent going to landscape it and put plants, etc and that is fine....but they need to sod it. We own that land, we cant build because of the river but we own it and it needs sodding. Plus it doesnt look good at all.
The other things that have gone wrong are mostly unfixed at the moment. Brian and I are hoping that they not finished at this point and will be getting there.
The walk through will be fun on the 22nd. We are bringing Al and hopefully others (one including a guy who knows and hates the head builder because of the head builders shoddy, incompetent work) to help go through the house with a fine tuned comb. If the head builder thinks we will just sign and not pay attention he is sorely mistaken. You would think he would be aware and start doing his job better (we have made it abundently clear that we are NOT pleased to him and everyone and are taking pictures) but he is clueless which is the problem.
Oh the hole that was there? Head builder guy apparently didnt think he needed to check our plans or work order or anything and assumed we had a regular hot water heater. We do not have a regular hot water heater, we have a tankless hot water heater and those do not require a pole for protection. So they have to fix that hole.
This past trip was another trip of about 70 photos and I will spare you all of them.
