Everything I know is because of

The Muppet Show!

There are times in my everyday life when I realize that the only reason why I know this song or that artist is because of seeing it on The Muppet Show. I don't only remember it vaguely I can replay the skit in my head. A couple of weeks ago at Caroline's we were talking about my godson wanting to go into the Navy so I started singing "We want you we want you we want you and your ruly crew". Caroline was so confused and I proceeded to describe the skit in The Muppet Show ( a viking ship docking with the vikings going out and grabbing sheep and cows, I added women but they never did at least in the skit, singing that song). I think if I had remembered  the "In the navy where you sail the seven seas" portion she would have recognized the song.

This past Thursday I was there to say goodbye to my Maddy as she was going over to her dads and Caroline and I were talking about a book of poetry my Godson had received as a Baptism gift. It was a book of English and Irish poetry and I noticed Jabberwocky by Lewis Carrol. Could this be it? Is this the poem that had Skeeter fighting this dragon where Skeeter sliced the dragons head off? As I am playing the scene in my head. Caroline is looking at me in disbelief that the reason why I know this poem is mainly because of The Muppet Show.

In case you all don't know:

Jabberwocky
by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
